The DNA that Messenger stewards and shares carries a pattern of relationship that emanates from the Trinity. Messenger has distilled this DNA into 5 distinctives that shape everything Messenger is about.
Messenger is grounded in the simple truth that everything flows out of one’s intimacy with God. Helping leaders cultivate this intimacy and the freedom intimacy with God engenders, is Messenger’s anchor calling, which is the basis for every other mandate. We seek to be a support community to leaders who desire to cultivate an intimate relationship with God as the core of life and practice.
Messenger is committed to communicating The Gospel in ways that impact our culture, yet celebrates The Cross and stresses the freedom that is ours in surrender to Christ’s Lordship. We believe that The Gospel is uniquely transformative for individuals and societies, and that if we’re centered on communicating this Gospel, the power of The Holy Spirit will effect salvation.
Messenger champions a process of building unity in The Church – the radical middle – which centers on dialogue and finding Biblical consensus together on critical issues. This creates ‘Word and Spirit’ ministry cultures that foster safe places for the people of God. There is strength in the diversity in the Body of Christ, and when we allow The Spirit of God to blend those perspectives together in a Biblically-anchored way, we can often find a wise ‘radical middle’ for challenging situations.
Messenger seeks to understand how we do God’s work God’s way. He has given us designs, patterns, and methods that resonate with his own character and nature. How we live and do God’s work is just as important as doing God’s work.
Messenger is committed to envisioning leaders with the paradigm of Trinitarian community. The God-communion of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is the template for all relationships, from family to friendships to church structures. We believe that it is in living out God’s model that His kingdom is truly grasped, and we can live in joyous relationship with God and others.
